Introducing Cirevo’s on-demand Design services
By: Annie Crossland
Cirevo has just launched its on-demand design studio with three custom design packages tailored to early-stage climate tech founders.
When we first started working with founders, we began to see how even the boldest, most disruptive product idea can get stuck – or worse, buried in a presentation deck that didn’t do it justice.
One powerful way that you can differentiate your product early on is through great design.
Yet, good design can be hard to find, especially if you’re in the preliminary stages of product building. (Hiring top-tier designers is expensive. Freelance platforms can be a gamble. And you’re already strapped for time.)
What’s more, if you’re in the MVP phase and have ever tried to DIY your design work, you probably know the feeling of a pitch deck that you just want to stop looking at. Mockups that don’t quite hit the mark. Branding that feels too generic.
Great design is what turns confusion into clarity–that moment when someone goes from “I don’t get it” to “Oh, I see it now”.
Why design matters
Done right, great design:
Builds trust: Even if people are not able to fully express how a design makes them feel, they’re usually pretty good at sensing when something feels ‘off’. The same goes for brands and products that can quickly build trust with a strong visual identity.
Turns ideas into reality: When people can see your vision – in mockups, dashboards, or a pitch deck – they are much more likely to understand it, and (importantly!) get behind it.
Enter Cirevo’s on-demand
design services
We believe great design should be accessible to every founder, regardless of stage or budget. That’s why we’ve created a service focused on crafting digital mockups that bring your ideas for web and mobile applications to life.
Ultimately, we want to set a new standard for accessible, high-quality, on-brand design work and ensure that great design is within reach for every founder. This ethos is at the heart of why we’re launching Cirevo’s design studio.
Additionally when you sign up to the design service, you’ll also have access to our team of scientists, engineers, project managers, and designers. Together, they combine a love for building tech solutions with deep domain knowledge and technical expertise in environmental and data science, and can make sure that your designs function as well as they look.
“Design shouldn’t be used to exploit the environment. It should be used to make the world a better place. ”
That neatly brings us to the story of Resilien, and how on-demand design services made an abstract idea more tangible.
The story of Resilien
In late 2022, our co-founders, Jon Coello and Peter Redshaw, made a ‘follow your heart’ decision and founded Resilien.
At the time, pyrolysis technology was in its infancy but packed full of potential to turn organic matter into biochar: a carbon-rich substance that improves soil health and locks away CO₂. Jon and Pete’s vision was to work closely with farmers to salvage agricultural waste materials, like woodchips, and use a central pyrolysis plant to turn them into carbon sequestering biochar. This could be achieved by building software to coordinate, model, and optimise the whole operation.
This would connect the farmers to carbon markets and diversify income streams – just as farmers were feeling the pinch from the first pricing increases after the pandemic and Russian-Ukraine war – while laying the groundwork for a more resilient and sustainable food system.
To bring farmers and investors together, Jon and Pete needed more than words or numbers. They needed mockups, dashboards, and presentation slides to show what this would look like on someone’s desktop or phone screen.
Enter talented designer Tom Moore. With his help - Resilien’s pitch deck went from something that Jon lovingly calls a ‘visual disaster’ to a set of slides they could present with pride. Small but intentional design choices – like showing what the app would look like on an actual mobile screen made the interfaces feel intuitive and credible. They spoke the shared language of technology that we all have in our pockets.
The impact:
Investors leaned in.
Potential customers asked more engaged questions.
The concept stopped feeling abstract and started becoming tangible.
Even though the timing wasn’t right for Resilien, the experience provided multiple learnings about what it takes to be a first-time early stage climate tech founder – the joys, challenges, hardships, rewards, and everything in between.
Why on-demand design, why now?
In 2025, the current climate isn’t going to give anyone an easy ride. Climate funding is tighter, competition is fiercer, and the stakes are higher. If your product or pitch doesn’t inspire confidence, you might have the best idea in the room – but without design to tell your story, you’re left explaining your vision to people who can’t see it.
That’s why we created Cirevo’s on-demand design services: to give you what you need to tell your product story in the most effective, powerful way possible.
